They have three children now, and were on a hike with the children and a few neighborhood kids the day the water became 'infected'.

Kate is a happy, engaging young woman who enjoys physical fitness, broadening into crossfit training. She was one of the few who escaped the 'infection' of the local water supply, leading to her role in finding the source.

Rasheed is the lead operations engineer for the local system of reservoirs. He heads into town after sensing the earthquake, taking a vital role in discovering the true source of the 'infection'.

A refined man originally from the eastern cities of the United States, Sheriff Thomas is a man few would expect to see in a small town like this. Regardless, he has built a good report with the townsfolk, soon taking it upon himself to lead the hunt for the source of the 'infection'.
